My name is Michael Prinzing. I am a PhD candidate at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. I work in the Positive Emotions and Psychophysiology Laboratory, and I'm a am a graduate fellow at the Parr Center for Ethics. I earned my Masters degree at Oxford University, and before that, my Bachelors at the University of California, Los Angeles.
My research is about the good life, broadly construed. This includes happiness, well-being, meaning in life, virtue, and the relationships between these. I take an interdisciplinary approach to investigating these topics, integrating empirical and philosophical methods.
Some of my non-academic hobbies are hiking, coffee roasting, and powerlifting. Pre-pandemic, I did long-form improv at a local comedy theatre.
